Tips For Dealing With Pests & Vermin This Summer

Posted on: 10 Jun 24

As the weather heats up, it’s lovely to spend time in our gardens – we just need to take care that pests and vermin don’t decide to join us too.

The warm weather encourages pests and vermin to come into our homes and gardens. This is why it’s important to take steps to prevent this from happening.

How To Prevent Pests & Vermin

To deter pests and vermin from staying in your garden or coming into your home, we have some tips for you.

Our tips include:

  • Keep your home and garden tidy, especially in the summer months
  • Clean up any food or drink spillages quickly
  • Don’t leave rubbish or old furniture in your garden
  • Cover any food and put it away in the fridge
  • Keep the space around and under the kitchen cupboards and cookers clean
  • Make sure no meat or fish waste is added to your compost bin or pile
  • Always place bird food in containers and not on the ground
  • Empty the bin regularly, clean it out when you empty it, and keep the lid closed on the wheelie bin

What Happens If You Have Pests & Vermin?
