National Windrush Day Celebrations

2023 marks 75 years since the HMT Empire Windrush docked in Tilbury, Essex, on 22 June 1948.

We will be commemorating the 75^th Anniversary of the arrival of the passengers of the Empire Windrush to the UK. The day celebrates the contribution and achievements of the Windrush generation and their descendants for the enormous contributions they made to Great Britain during its recovery from the Second World War and have continued to make ever since.

With Nehemiah Housing born out of a need to provide suitable and affordable housing to a sector of the community that were part of the Windrush generations. We will be taking the opportunity to celebrate and reflect on this joyous occasion and we are holding two events at our McCalla House and Charles Pearson Court Retirement Schemes.
