We're Celebrating Starts At Home Day 2023!

Posted on: 31 Aug 23

We are proud to support Starts at Home Day 2023 to raise awareness of the huge difference supported housing makes to people’s lives.

It is a day of celebration of the value and great work that housing associations do to provide support to residents, and the huge difference having a safe and secure place to live makes to people’s happiness and wellbeing.

Run by the National Housing Federation, the Starts at Home campaign will mark its seventh year when it takes place on Friday 1st September 2023.

Starts At Home Day 1st September 2023

Timed to happen before party conference season, Starts at Home Day is designed to be an opportunity to encourage political parties to prioritise supported housing and its residents.

This year, the campaign is calling for a long-term plan for housing and for the next government to implement policy changes to safeguard the future of supported housing.

The Need For Long Term Funding For Housing

The Department for Health & Social Care’s White Paper predicts demand for supported homes in England will increase by 125,000 by 2030. This is why the National Housing Federation wants government to make a commitment to long-term funding and to make all decisions about care, decisions about housing.
