Say Hello To Marcia Cunnison

Posted on: 17 Feb 25

Our New Community Partnership & Engagement Officer!

Everyone here at Nehemiah would like to congratulate Marcia Cunnison on being promoted to our new Community Partnership & Engagement Officer. I am sure you have all met Marcia by now but if you have not met her yet, you soon will as she spends a great deal of her time with our tenants and within the local community.

Previously our Customer Engagement Officer, Marcia was recently awarded the expanded role of Community Partnership & Engagement Officer in acknowledgement of all she does to support our tenants and now also within the local community.

Marcia comments: “I’m so excited to have developed my role into what it is now – I’ve always been committed to supporting tenants and encouraging them to get involved with our decision-making processes, and now I’m able to do more to improve community relations, involve more tenants and improve the reputation and work of Nehemiah.”

What Does The Role Of Community Partnership & Engagement Officer Involve?

This role was created to strengthen Nehemiah’s relationships within the community and key stakeholders, including local authorities, other housing providers, charities and businesses. Our housing association will become more well known within the community as a result of the promotional work, with greater opportunities to secure funding that will support community projects and initiatives.

At the core of the role is also working closely with tenants and stakeholders to identify local needs and priorities so that these can be met. Examples of this work include community events, tenant forums and supporting tenant participation in the decision-making process.

Marcia adds: “I’m really enjoying my new role and know that in time I’ll be able to improve community relations by partnering with local organisations to tackle community challenges and improve the lives of our tenants. Close partnerships will also enable us to access new resources and opportunities which, in turn, will enhance what we can offer our tenants.

“My ultimate aim is to involve more and more tenants in the decisions we make so we can continue to improve the services we offer.”

Nehemiah Is Here To Help & Support

Tenants’ wellbeing is at the core of all we do – and we know that tenants are the experts when it comes to what works with our services and what could be better. This is why we encourage and support tenants to get involved and to give feedback whenever they can.

Furthermore, we want all our tenants to know that we are always here to help, so do get in touch if you have any concerns, complaints or questions, and we will do all we can to assist.
