Join Us & Get Involved With ASB Awareness Week 2026!
Posted on: 23 Jun 26
We are proud to be supporting Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) Awareness Week 2026, taking place between 29th June and 5th July – and want as many of our tenants as possible to get involved.
Let’s use this week in June and July to raise awareness of the impact that anti-social behaviour (ASB) has on people’s lives, individuals’ rights surrounding ASB, and the help that is available for victims of ASB.
At Nehemiah, we are committed to ensuring our tenants can live safely and comfortably in their own homes and within supportive communities. We understand that ASB not only disrupts communities but often leads to more serious crimes being committed.
This is why we have dedicated ASB Tenancy Services Officer, Lusefa Salamon, as well as certified mediators, as part of our team. Lusefa is focussed on tenant wellbeing and responds to every ASB case confidentially and with compassion, providing tenant support to both parties while a complaint is investigated and the situation is resolved in the best possible way.
How You Can Get Involved
There are various events taking place around the Birmingham area that you can attend.
You can find details of them here
ASB Tenancy Services Officer, Lusefa will be attending events on Monday 30th June, Tuesday 1st of July and Wednesday 2nd of July. If you would like to have more information or assistance in attending one of the events please contact Lusefa via email Lusefa.salamon@nehemiah.co.uk
What Is ASB Awareness Week 2026?
ASB Awareness Week is organised by Resolve, the UK’s leading community safety organisation, and supported nationally by government, Civil Service, police and fire forces, Historic England, housing providers across the country, local authorities, and community groups.
The campaign is designed to raise awareness of ASB and an understanding of the causes behind anti-social behaviour, leading to reduced ASB cases, stronger local responses and better rights of victims as a result.
The 2025 YouGov survey, commissioned by Resolve, revealed that:
- 27-28% say ASB has made them feel unsafe in their local area
- 15-15.6% have considered moving home due to ASB
- 42-43% say ASB has increased in their area over the last 3 years
- Almost 1 in 10 people experience ASB at least weekly
- 1.7million people experience ASB daily
- 50% of all adults say ASB is a problem in their local area
Let’s use this week as an opportunity to make a difference by coming together, taking a stand against ASB, and helping to do our bit to keep our communities safe.
If you can’t attend in person at one of the events taking place in parts of Birmingham mentioned above, there will be a Digital Summit session every day during ASB Awareness Week, running between 29th June and 5th July. These will bring together experts, practitioners and community voices, to push the conversation on. To join any of these free sessions, you can register, here.
You can find out more about ASB Awareness Week, here. Also, you can use #MakingCommunitiesSafer on social media for more information in the run-in to and throughout the week-long campaign.
