Stay safe, cool and well
☀️ Keep Yourself Cool
- Drink water regularly.
- Avoid the sun where possible, especially 11 am to 3 pm.
- Wear loose, light clothing and use sunscreen.
- Avoid strenuous activity in the hottest part of the day.
🏠 Keep Your Home Cooler
- Close curtains or blinds in sunny rooms.
- Open windows when cooler outside, if safe.
- Stay in the coolest room and use cool water on skin or clothes.
🤝 Look Out for Others
- Check on neighbours, friends or relatives who may struggle in the heat, especially older people, young children and anyone living alone.
🆘 Support in Your Scheme
- Scheme Officers can offer support and advice when on site.
- If you feel unwell and cannot get help, use the pull cord.
- In an emergency, call 999.
🏥 Know When to Get Help
- Heat exhaustion: dizziness, headache, tiredness, sickness, cramps, heavy sweating or thirst.
- Act quickly: move somewhere cool, drink water and cool the skin.
- Call NHS 111 if symptoms continue after 30 minutes.
- Call 999 if someone collapses, has a seizure, is confused or loses consciousness.
