Posted on: 09 Sep 24
We are delighted to be again supporting this year’s Gas Safety Week, taking place between the 9th and 15th September 2024 with the goal of keeping the nation gas safe and spreading the gas safety message.
Run by Gas Safe Register, this all-industry national safety campaign is in its 14th year and is once again celebrating the positive impact it has on individuals and companies by highlighting the importance of gas safety checks and keeping homes safe.
Join Us For Gas Safety Week 2024
Every year, more than 1,000 people are affected by carbon monoxide poisoning, which can be fatal. This is why it’s vital to be gas safe.
Let’s use the week of 9-15 September to all come together and be part of this year’s Gas Safety Week, to support one another and keep everyone in our communities safe.

Nehemiah Is Here To Help
At Nehemiah, we want all our tenants to feel comfortable and safe in their homes.
Unsafe gas appliances can be dangerous and put you at risk from carbon monoxide poisoning, gas leaks, fires and explosions.
To help you stay gas safe at home, we have some tips for you:
- Check your appliances every 12 months – We service any gas appliances in your home every year – as part of your tenancy agreement, you are required to allow us access to your home.
- Use a Gas Safe Registered engineer for all fittings, fixes, and services – you can check an engineer at GasSafeRegister.co.uk or by calling 0800 408 5500
- Know the signs of carbon monoxide poisoning – headaches, dizziness, breathlessness, nausea, collapse, loss of consciousness
- Check warning signs on your appliances – a yellow flame instead of blue, black marks on or around the appliance, condensation in the room
- Fit a carbon monoxide alarm in your home
- Don’t block any vents
- Check any chimneys regularly
Please remember if you have any concerns about your gas boiler please call our RepairLine:
