We’re Supporting Fuel Poverty Awareness Day 2025
Posted on: 26 Nov 25
We’re proud to announce that Nehemiah is once again supporting Fuel Poverty Awareness Day, taking place this year on 26th November.
This one-day event is designed to raise awareness and understanding of fuel poverty and related issues, and we would love our tenants to show their support on the day – and beyond – by taking part in local activities, finding out more about fuel poverty, seeking advice if needed and checking in on loved ones to make sure they’re able to stay warm this winter.
What Is Fuel Poverty Awareness Day?
Fuel Poverty Awareness Day is a yearly campaign run by National Energy Action and designed to make a difference to the estimated 6 million households currently living in fuel poverty.
The campaign raises awareness of what it’s really like to live in fuel poverty and calls for more support from the government to help those facing fuel poverty this winter – the day will hopefully unite people and organisations to become one voice for change and help to end fuel poverty.
You can find out more about the events that will run across the country to help tackle fuel poverty, as well as access information on the help and support that is available, on National Energy Action’s website.
What Is Fuel Poverty?
Fuel poverty is being unable to heat your home – this is not only extremely difficult to live with but being cold negatively impacts on wellbeing and health. Often, those living in fuel poverty are forced to decide between turning the heating on and keeping debt to a minimum, which makes the situation more stressful.
With winter comes darker, colder days and nights – and increasing energy bills. For many, winter means struggling in cold, unsafe, uncomfortable and unhealthy homes. Living in a cold home and worrying about how to keep warm but not go over the budget, has a massive impact on a person’s physical and mental wellbeing.
Here To Help & Support On This Fuel Poverty Awareness Day
We want all our tenants to be able to live in comfortable homes and feel supported within our communities. It’s important we all come together on 26th November to mark Fuel Poverty Awareness Day and use this opportunity to ask for help if needed or to check-in with loved ones who might be struggling with their energy bills this winter.
By uniting, we can help to make a difference – together, we can put a stop to fuel poverty.
