Debt Awareness Week 2025: We’re Here For You
Posted on: 24 Mar 25
This year’s Debt Awareness Week runs from 24-30 March – we encourage all our tenants to use this campaign as an opportunity to seek help about any debt worries they or loved ones may be experiencing.
What Is Debt Awareness Week?
Debt Awareness Week is an annual event run by Step Change, the UK’s leading debt charity, with the aim of raising awareness of debt and the support available to help people who are in debt or worried about debt.
What Happens During Debt Awareness Week 2025?
This year, Debt Awareness Week has the theme of exploring stigma and shame – the charity’s aim is to challenge people’s attitudes to debt and to find ways to help people get the support they need.
By raising an understanding and awareness of the stigma that surrounds debt, people can start to realise the multiple reasons for debt and all that can be done to remove the shame associated with it.
As a result of this, it is hoped people will gain the confidence to start conversations and to be more open with partners, family and friends, about their financial situation.
There will also be practical advice throughout the week about taking the all-important first steps to get help.
You can find out more about Debt Awareness Week, here.
To access help and support, Step Change has an online tool that provides personalised debt advice. This is available all year round.
