Will You Join Us For This Year’s Talk Money Week

Posted on: 02 Nov 26

Let’s make the most of this year’s Talk Money Week, which is taking place between 2nd and 6th November, to come together and start conversations with friends and loved ones about all-things money.

Nehemiah is once again supporting this annual campaign and we and we would love as many of our tenants as possible to join us in getting involved. Lots of local authorities will be running events across the region that you can get involved with. Birmingham City Council has lots of information on their website about events during the week here.

What Is Talk Money Week 2026?

Talk Money Week is a yearly campaign that is dedicated to encouraging people to talk openly about their finances during this particular week – and to continue to do so year-round.

The theme for this year’s Talk Money Week is ‘It All Counts’, with the focus on realistic and manageable actions. The idea behind the theme is that taking small steps and making small changes in how you deal with money matters can make a big difference, especially at the moment when people are feeling the financial pressure with the high cost of living.

Examples of small actions that lend themselves to this year’s theme of ‘It All Counts’, include checking to see what benefits you’re entitled to and whether there are any additional ones you can apply for, and speaking to someone you trust about a money worry you have.

By talking about our money matters and any concerns we have, we start to feel more confident about managing our finances and build resilience to cope with our money better.

You can read about this year’s theme in greater detail, here.

Join Us For Talk Money Week This November?

When it comes to finances, it’s important to be open and honest – by talking to loved ones and friends about money matters, you will start to feel better. Furthermore, you’ll be able to access any help you might need or find ways to help others as a result of sharing.

Nehemiah works with Birmingham Settlement, a Birmingham based charity that provides advice and guidance on financial issues and concerns. For many years now, they have supported our tenants whenever they have had money worries. You can find out more about Birmingham Settlement’s services on their website.

We encourage all our tenants to make the most of Talk Money Week, between 2nd and 6th November, and to join us to engage, share concerns and helps others with their money matters.

Research shows there are many benefits of talking about money, including helping you to:

  • Make better decisions
  • Take fewer risks
  • Bond with friends and family
  • Encourage your children to have good money habits
  • Reduce stress
  • Gain control

Together, we can make the most of the opportunity Talk Money Week offers us – let’s talk about money matters and financial concerns this week and year-round! By doing so, we’ll improve our confidence and resilience to handle financial issues today and in the future.
