Energy-saving advice for residents at Charles Pearson Court
Posted on: 26 Aug 26
Andy Stevens from Smart NRG Limited recently visited Charles Pearson Court to give residents practical advice on reducing energy use and household costs. He explained that the Local Energy Advice Partnership (LEAP) programme is funded by energy companies and offers a range of energy-saving measures and wider support, subject to eligibility and availability. This may include:
- Air fryers and slow cookers, where available and subject to eligibility
- Panels behind radiators to retain heat in winter
- Draught excluders
- LED bulbs
- Energy-saving sockets with remote controls
- Damp and mould advice
- Energy debt advice
- Benefit entitlement checks
- Help to join the Priority Services Register
- Support to access eligible water bill discounts
- Storage heater advice
- Heated airers and dehumidifiers for winter, where available and subject to eligibility
Residents welcomed the session and were keen to learn more about the support available. Several provided their contact details to Andy so that follow-up calls could be arranged. We are also discussing opportunities for Smart NRG Limited to deliver similar sessions at other Nehemiah schemes.
