Grounds & Garden Maintenance

Posted on: 07 Aug 24

We take great pride in all we do at Nehemiah – and this includes our communal areas and helping our tenants with their garden maintenance.

To keep communal spaces clean and tidy on all our estates, we employ a ground maintenance company to carry out regular tasks and take charge of any ongoing work as needed.

If you have your own private garden, it is your responsibility to look after it. However, we are always here to help in any way we can to make this as easy as possible for you.

Grounds Maintenance

During the summer months, in particular, our contractor makes regular visits to our communal areas to keep the spaces looking vibrant and to keep the areas clear of obstacles.

The company makes sure the grass is cut, that all paths and steps are kept clear, any dead plants are removed and new ones are planted in their place, and that litter is put in the bin.

We carry out estate inspections often, to ensure that the grounds are maintained to a suitably high standard. We welcome all feedback from tenants regarding our communal spaces.

Garden Maintenance

We expect all tenants to care for their gardens so that they look nice and don’t attract pests and vermin.

It’s a good idea to remove leaf debris and dead plants, as these can encourage pests into the garden. To keep rats and mice out, block access to any areas they might like to move into – such as under decking, greenhouses and sheds. Make sure you don’t leave any food or rubbish in the garden, and that you keep your garden clean and tidy.

If you do spot rats in your garden, you can place obstacles on the paths that they use as they don’t like change and this should encourage them to move away.
